Ruth Brandt Writer and Creative Writing Tutor

I am the author of No One Has Any Intention of Building A Wall (a short story collection - Winner of the Eyelands Book Award: Unpublished Short Story Collection 2018, and nominated for Edge Hill Prize 2021 and Republic of Consciousness Prize 2022.) and Hassan's Zoo & A VIllage in Winter (a short story pamphlet), both published in 2021 by Fly on the Wall Press.

My short stories have been nominated for international prizes including the Pushcart Prize, Best Small Fictions Award and Write Well Award. They have been long- and short-listed and highly commended in competitions including the Bridport Prize, Bath Flash Fiction Award and MsLexia. They have appeared in magazines, anthologies and online, read at literary festivals and performed. I have written novels and had poetry published and a play performed.
