In 2017 I won the Kingston University MFA Creative Writing Prize. My novel Riding a Light Beam was shortlisted in the Retreat West Novel Competition 2018.

My short stories both, literary and commercial, have been published widely in magazines and anthologies including The Bridport Prize Anthology 2018, Into the Void, the Aesthetica Creative Writing Annual 2017, Litro, Neon, Brittle Star, and Bristol Short Story Prize 4. My poetry has been published in the Irish Literary Review and Bunbury Magazine, and a short play performed at Theatre503.

I was formerly Writer in Residence at Surrey Wildlife Trust and Writer in Residence at the National Trust's house Polesden Lacey.

Tutoring
I have been a creative writing tutor for over 10 years, working for organisations including Surrey Adult Learning, West Dean College, Kingston University, the National Trust and Surrey Wildlife Trust, as well as running residential weekend courses, week long writing retreats and tutoring privately.

I have an MFA in creative writing, am a Professional Member of the National Association of Writers in Education (NAWE) and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), as well as being qualified to teach at further education level.

My aim as a tutor is to get people writing and keep them writing. To encourage this I provide supportive and constructive feedback which takes into account a writer's aims and ambitions. My courses are suitable for anyone who wants to start writing creatively and for those who already write and want to develop their skills.

I run bespoke courses for groups. Please contact me if you're interested in finding out more about what I can offer.
